Terraform CEO Do Kwon’s plan to save Terra has been accepted.
Voting on Kwon’s plan proposing to fork the Terra network ended today. The Terra community approved 65.5% of the governance vote on the proposal to restart the Terra blockchain and create LUNA 2.0 tokens. Only the 13.2% veto of those who oppose the proposal used no; More than 20% abstained.
According to the details in the proposal, Terra 2.0 is scheduled to launch on the mainnet on Friday. The new LUNA tokens will then be available for trading and will be airdropped to existing stakeholders at the rate included in the proposal. The new chain will also exist without the UST-like structure that was the main purpose of the old chain.
