The DNA of four past and deceased US presidents will be placed in special capsules and sent into Sun orbit on the United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket, as part of a symbolic space funeral flight.

This mission will be performed by Celestis, a burial company that specializes in sending DNA into deep space to join part of a future human colony, as part of a DNA migration method similar to how species once migrated around Earth.

According to Celestis, the DNA that will be sent into space on these flights will be used as a data storage method that will tell the story of America and its people, and future civilizations located in the depths of space will be able to use it as biological history books. We are not entirely sure how these civilizations will find their DNA libraries floating in the vastness of space.

Celestis believes that in the future, a person’s entire existence can be revealed simply by looking at their DNA. This could make it possible to protect humanity forever with a small amount of DNA.

Soon the DNA of George Washington, Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, and Dwight D. Eisenhower and the remains of many people who worked on the Star Trek series will be launched into space. The Presidents will be left floating in space, each with their DNA in a separate capsule.

The launch is expected in 2023.
