Participating in the 2022 Game Developers Conference and planning to enter the graphics card industry assertively, Intel shared new information about Nvidia DLSS’s competitor XeSS upgrade technology.
Will support many graphics cards
As it is known, the company, which is preparing to launch Arc Alchemist graphics cards, continues to work on XeSS technology. In addition, stating that the new technology will work most efficiently on its own graphics cards with Matrix Extensions (XMX) acceleration support, Intel announced that all graphics cards that meet the Shader Model 6.4+ and DP4a standards will also be supported.
AMD announced FSR 2.0 technology: Here are the details
Unlike AMD FSR 2.0 and Nvidia DLSS 2.3, Intel XeSS will have five different display modes, including the Ultra Quality mode, which will offer 1.3X scaling. Ultra-Quality mode will increase performance by 21 percent to 27 percent for 1440p and 4K resolutions, respectively, while Ultra-Performance mode will offer an increase of 97 percent to 153 percent.
Stating that upscaling and anti-aliasing should be handled in a single way, Intel engineers say that they use their own algorithms for problems such as ghosting or blurring found in today’s scaling technologies. Although the release date of the new technology or which games it will support is unknown, new details can be shared at the official launch of Arc Alchemist graphics cards on March 30.
