Artificial intelligence technology is now in almost every aspect of our lives. NVIDIA’s DLSS technology is one of them. Working with machine learning infrastructure, DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology offers high resolution images without burdening the graphics card with the help of artificial intelligence.
DLSS 3.5 technology will be available in the fall
DLSS, which first entered our lives in 2020, then appeared in 2021 with the DLSS 2.3 version. Finally, with DLSS 3, which came into our lives in October 2022, the enjoyment of gaming took it to the next level. The company, which introduced DLSS 3.1 at the beginning of this year, is now preparing to take the gaming experience to a different point with DLSS 3.5.
DLSS 3.5 focuses on Ray Reconstruction (RR) technology. This technology offers a visibly improved visual experience compared to traditional image correction techniques.
NVIDIA claims that Ray Reconstruction is trained with five times more data than DLSS 3. In addition to combining additional game and software engine data, the new technology has made significant progress in recognizing various effects, distinguishing pixels of different quality, and protecting high-frequency data.
NIVIDIa also states that using traditional image enhancing systems removes the core data needed for upscaling and causes loss of color data during subsequent scaling. It was also discovered that traditional methods cause ghosting due to erroneous lighting effects caused by the accumulation of pixels in previous frames.
Such systems also cause sub-average illumination and poor quality reflections when there is not enough data. It is stated that this situation will be prevented thanks to Ray Reconstruction, which is the main feature of the DLSS 3.5 update.
NVIDIA has confirmed that DLSS 3.5 will be released in the fall. DLSS 3.5 technology will be available in games such as Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Alan Wake 2, as well as applications such as NVIDIA Omniverse Platform, Chaos Vantage and D5 Renderer.
