Entertainment giant Disney has appointed Mike White as senior vice president of next-generation storytelling and consumer experiences, Reuters reported.
Joining Disney in 2011, White has held various positions over the past decade, including senior vice president of technology and innovation. White will be responsible for spearheading the company’s metaverse strategy.
White also held key positions at Yahoo before joining Disney.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek said the company has the ability to create a “new paradigm” that can redefine entertainment:
“Today, we connect these universes and how viewers experience our stories. and we have the opportunity to create a whole new paradigm of how we interact with them”
After a blockbuster quarter, Disney is focusing on expanding its sports broadcast portfolio and improving its metaverse work.
