According to BirGün, a female employee who complained about the harsh working conditions at Dardanel’s Çanakkale factory, put cameras at the entrance of the factory, toilets and changing rooms.
According to the employee who spoke, the factory employs its employees beyond the legal working hours and violates their personal rights. “Sometimes it’s two 12-hour shifts. He now works in 2 shifts of 9 and a half hours. Right now, they give us half an hour break in 9 and a half hour shifts. If we have a need, if we want to go to the toilet, we cannot get permission. They say, ‘You should have taken a break’. In both working arrangements, we can take 1 day off per week. Even when working for 12 hours, even tea and water is not provided during breaks. We have to buy it ourselves from the canteen at constantly increasing prices. ”

The employee, who made striking claims about the situation at the factory, stated that more than 70% of the employees work as subcontractors, and that these employees are not subcontracted, but through the person who owns the field. He also stated that since these people do not have insurance, they are sent home, not to the hospital, in case of any work accident.

“After the meal, all employees complain of stomach ailments, the cheap oils used cause heartburn and severe nausea. Of course, it does not only threaten employee health. It is forbidden to shoot with a camera inside the factory because they are afraid that we will shoot wormy and damaged products and give them to the press.
