Discord will prevent misdirections
The company made a statement about its new policy decisions today. He talked about targeting anti-vaccine rhetoric and false health advice about COVID-19, after two years of the pandemic. He said that with the community guidelines that will come into effect on March 28, users can no longer share false and misleading information that will cause physical or social harm.
Discord’s chief legal officer, Clint Smith, stated that ‘drinking bleach will be good for COVID-19’ will be banned, but ‘crystals increase lung capacity’. He made the lines of the policy more clear in our minds by saying that discourses with low risk factors will not be banned, although there is no certainty like this.
In addition, individuals or groups that insult a person, community, organization, make violent threats in a convincing way, support or encourage child sexual abuse will also be banned from the platform. Users can express their discomfort with the option to report in the settings of the messages.
Private and public servers will be separated more easily
Discord is a platform consisting of public servers where you can create a small private server with your close friends or anyone can join. But it’s hard to find out if a server you’re already on is private or public.
To make this distinction easier, the company will now make public servers more prominent with a label that will appear at the top of the left menu of servers. This tag is also linked to the new policy. While the rhetoric we just mentioned is prohibited on public servers, private servers and DM will not be interfered with.
