Once one of the biggest players in the phone market, Nokia, unfortunately, could not show this success in the long run. The company, which could not keep up with the radical change experienced in the sector since 2010, joined HMD Global after changing hands several times.
Nokia, which has recently focused more on models in the entry and middle segment, has recently made a disappointing statement for users. Here are the details…
Will Nokia quit its flagship smartphone business?
As it will be remembered, Nokia showed up at the MWC 2022 fair that took place last week. However, contrary to expectations, the company, which introduced only affordable entry-level phones at the event, disappointed users by keeping its silence on flagship models.
The reason why Nokia has not released flagship models recently emerged. HMD Head of Product Marketing, Adam Ferguson, told Android Authority that the company has not yet worked on flagship models.
Adam Ferguson used the following statements on the subject;
Making an $800 phone just doesn’t make sense for us right now. We don’t want to be involved in a big war with other players. Instead, we will focus on affordable models.
Apart from this, the company, which had a lot of pain due to the delays experienced in the Nokia 9 PureView, which was previously in the upper segment, closed the door to the upper segment models for a while with the last statement.
