MediaTek has truly entered the flagship processor market for the first time. The Taiwanese company, which has been in the entry, middle segment and mid-upper segment for a long time, has set its target to the top. Dimensity 9000, which previously passed the flagship processors of last year, also intimidated its main rival, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. In this sense, Dimensity 9000 Geekbench 5 score also appeared.

Dimensity 9000 also passed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with Geekbench 5 score

Qualcomm is quite ambitious with its 8 Gen 1 processor produced by Samsung with a 4 nm fabrication process. According to the first test results, after a long time, the score difference with Apple Bionic processors began to decrease. However, the Dimensity 9000 is far ahead in this equation. According to the Geekbench 5 results published on MediaTek’s Weibo account, Dimensity 9000 passed the 4 thousand points limit in multi-core for the first time.

MediaTek shared the Dimensity 9000 Geekbench 5 score on Weibo

Accordingly, Dimensity 9000 managed to score 1273 points in the single-core Geekbench 5 test and 4324 points in the multi-core test. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, on the other hand, has 1232 points in a single core, according to Geekbench results. In this sense, there is not much difference in single-core performance between the two processors. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor has a Geekbench 5 multi-core score between 3800 and 3900. In this sense, Dimensity 9000 was ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with its Geekbench score.

Apple’s latest processor, A15 Bionic, has a performance that is hard to reach, such as 1734 in a single core. This processor managed to score 4818 points in Geekbench 5 multi-core performance. In this sense, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 has managed to approach the multi-core performance of the A15 Bionic without being included in any flagship phone. As you know, if the phone used by the processor in this test has a powerful hardware, this also affects the Geekbench score.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 specifications

Dimensity 9000 was ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor according to PCMark results. Accordingly, Dimensity 9000 scored 17 thousand 573 points in the Work 3.0 performance test. In the same test, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor got 16,858 points.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is one step ahead with graphics performance

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is currently slightly above the Dimensity 9000 processor with its AnTuTu score. However, both processors managed to exceed the 1 million point threshold. The Adreno 730 graphics unit has a large share in the AnTuTu performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. MediaTek, on the other hand, comes with the Mali G710 graphics unit.

Although this graphics unit brings a 20 percent performance increase over its predecessor, the Adreno 730 is currently the best mobile graphics processor. How Samsung will change this equation with the AMD RDNA 2 graphics unit is eagerly awaited.
