With the new regulation, customers will be able to choose “digital slips” instead of paper slips for card payments. Digital slips can be viewed and shared for 6 months from the bank’s mobile application and internet branch.
Three options will be offered
For slip preference, customers will be offered three options over mobile banking and internet banking: “I do not want to receive slips below the contactless transaction limit”, “I do not want to receive slips in any transaction” and “I want to receive slips in all my transactions.” Consumers who choose the first two options will use digital slip technology.
When will the digital slip be passed?
Two different dates were set for the transition to digital slips. In cases where the customer card and the bank processing the card are the same, it will start to be applied on September 1, 2023 at the latest, and on December 1, 2023 at the latest, for transactions made in cases where they are different. As of December 1, 2023, digital slips will be available for all card payments made from all POS terminals.
Paper slips cannot be recycled
The paper used in the slips could not be recycled due to the chemical substance in it. With the digitization of slips, 17 trees in nature will be saved for every 1 ton of slips. In addition to reducing the carbon footprint, it will also save time in payments.
