BMW fans’ dream: BMW M3 (E36)

This car stands out as the first BMW car that Paul Walker bought. The car was first launched in February 1992. 71,242 units of BMW M3 E36 were produced until it rolled off the production line in 1999. M3 E36 was first produced as a Coupe body chassis.

In 1994, the sedan and cabriolet body bodies of the M3 E36 were put on sale. BMW’s 286 HP 6-cylinder S50 engine and 5-speed manual transmission were used in the car for the first time. After 1995, BMW used a 317 HP, 6-cylinder, 32-liter S50B32 engine instead of this engine. The 5-speed manual transmission was replaced by a 6-speed manual transmission.

Paul Walker had two E30s and one E36. Three of these vehicles were sold in 2020 for a total of $1.7 million.

The first pain in the M series: BMW M1

The car was produced between 1978 and 1981. At that time, BMW; He wanted a car that would replace the CSL model and be used in races. As a result, the BMW M1 was produced. The M1 had a turbocharged 350 HP engine. BMW stopped production of the M1 in 1981 after a total of 456 units were produced. Then, instead of this model, BMW started producing the M5.

Paul Walker’s M1 sold for $648,500 in December 2022.

BMW’s first 8 series: BMW 850 CSi (E31)

This model was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in early September 1989. BMW 850 CSi had a total of 5 different engine options and produced 375 horsepower and 555.89 nm of torque. Although the vehicle, which had a V12 engine, was a member of the 8 series, it made a difference with both its power and handling.

On the transmission side, there were 3 different transmission options: 4-speed automatic, 5-speed automatic and 6-speed manual. The car remained on the production line for 10 years. Then, its production was terminated in 1999.

Grandfather of them all: BMW 2002 Tii Touring Alpina

This model is among the very well-built cars of its period. The BMW 2002 Tii Touring Alpina, which had a 2-liter gasoline engine, had features such as a 75 percent locked limited slip differential, 3.9 final drive ratio, ventilated rear disc brakes, Alpina chassis with Bilstein suspension.

Since we are used to seeing these things, they may not mean much to most people when read like this. However, this car was made in 1974. Even today, we see drum brakes instead of disc brakes on the rear wheels of cars such as Egea and Taliant.
