DH Android application is in a long-term transformation process with your feedback and help. We are also proud to announce that we have presented to you perhaps the most important and biggest link of this transformation process. Our subject page where you spend the most time on the application; we present to you a new design, new features and most importantly, a much more performance.
We left the dusty past behind
It was a move we had in mind for a long time to bring our old topic page, which was almost cobwebbed, to life with up-to-date technologies. However, it took some time to bring our infrastructure to the current standards of the Android platform and to plan the architectural and technological solutions that will accompany us in this renewal. The only thing we are sure of is that we will make a real difference to you by using this time very efficiently.

Messages separated to the smallest part
Before we talk about new features and improvements, let’s talk about the improvements in performance. The new topic detail page draws its power from the message content separated down to the smallest part. As you know, there is no character limit when writing a message in the forum. In addition, when we consider that hundreds of images, links and videos can be found in a message, a very costly structure welcomes us. At this point, the old topic detail page was unfortunately very cumbersome in terms of both performance and power consumption on your Android phones, as it tried to load all the content in a message at the same time.
Since the messages are separated down to the smallest part on the new topic detail screen, only the part of the message that appears on the screen is uploaded. Naturally, this behavior takes scrolling performance to a new level, especially with improvements in performance and power consumption.

Let’s give a little spoiler to our members who are following the forum and the home page, many software developers, software candidates and our members who are interested in software as a hobby. Our Medium article, in which we explain the knowledge we have gained on this subject in detail, will be published soon. However, let’s continue to examine the features of the new subject detail in this news.
Topic Summary
We now have a main screen where you can favorite the topic, see the forum section it opened, change the message order and review the statistical data of the topic. You can reach this screen, which we call the Topic Summary, by touching the title section at the top of any topic. You will see that you can share the topic, review the images on the topic, and do your notification/favorite actions from this screen. In addition, for our users who are looking for more statistics, they can access the Topic Information screen from here. The Topic Info screen hosts interesting statistics such as Average Response Interval, Total Likes on the Topic, along with basic details such as Open Time, Last Reply Time, Total Replies, Views.

In addition, thanks to the filtering feature on the Topic Information screen, you can filter the answers containing the picture/link in the topic. After examining the settings such as notifications, e-mail subscription and visibility, you can finally look at the members who write the most and the distribution of messages by platforms.
More details about members
Our member’s section, which is at the beginning of each message, is now in a much more functional structure with more details. In addition to the features such as quickly following the relevant member, reviewing the personal notes you have added, not losing the subject owner on the following pages, you can see the member ranks we are used to and the badge we have given to our users who have been with us for 20 years or more.

In addition, the relevant preferences you have selected on your profile in forums such as Football, Motor Vehicle, Mobile Phones will appear next to your avatar. Thus, we aim to make the topics under these forum sections much more enjoyable and useful.
Of course, you can see the statistics specific to that message, along with basic features such as blocking members, sending private messages, reporting via the three-dot menu next to each message.
offline mode
One of the biggest challenges in developing the new topic screen has been the offline features. An advanced offline mode is waiting for you to have a faster experience while accessing the topics you have visited before, and to continue using the application when you do not have internet access.
When you open the application back, many details that you are used to on the old topic screen are preserved on the new topic screen, as well as the features you are used to, such as continuing from the last page you left off.

Of course there is more
The topic screen, which hosts 4 different color modes with its brand new and spacious design, also includes many features such as easy-to-follow chain messages, gif supported avatars, hot deal link subscriptions, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram embedded linker and internal videos. As you can see from the length of the news, unfortunately it is not possible to count all of them. At this point, we invite you to download the latest version of the DH application and share your experiences with us.
Thanks
In addition to our Android team, our UI/UX team, which is the architect of all these screens that have come to life, and our Backend team, who accompany with their data in the background, are involved in the development of the new screen, which is one of the biggest changes in the DH Android application. In addition, we would like to thank our test team for their detailed tests and feedback, and our managers for their support throughout this process.
