Samsung released the beta version of the Expert RAW application for the S21 Ultra model in November last year, which brought a number of features such as 16-bit RAW support. Now, other smart devices that will receive this application have been announced.

Samsung brings Expert RAW application to its flagships

    • Galaxy S22+
    • Galaxy S22
  • Expert RAW support coming models in March
    • Galaxy S21 Ultra
  • Expert RAW in April future models
    • Galaxy Z Fold 3
  • Expert RAW support upcoming models in the first half of 2022
    • Galaxy S20 Ultra
    • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
    • Galaxy Z Fold 2

Samsung has already shared the beta version of Expert RAW application for S21 Ultra . It was said that this support will be offered during the promotional event of the Galaxy S22 series. Therefore, it was known that these models would come.

However, although it is expected to come to the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Fold series, it is not yet clear which devices will receive it. But in this case, it became clear today. Of course, there may be models that will be added to the shared list over time. For example, it is known that models other than Ultra of the Galaxy S21 family can also support this application in terms of camera infrastructure and processor.

New Samsung Expert RAW application brings with it multi-frame HDR, improved low-light performance by combining data from multiple sensors (enhanced night mode) and RAW shooting on telephoto camera . It can also save images losslessly as JPEG and 16-bit DNG RAW as it is directly integrated with Adobe Lightroom application.

Samsung says that it focuses on 3 different criteria when determining these devices. First, the phone has to use the lowest Eynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 chip. In addition, it must be using a telephoto lens that supports Bayer RAW, which can zoom 2x and above with at least 8 GB of RAM support.

For this reason, the Galaxy S21 models, except for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20 and Ultra, are not named in the first list shared, as they can only do 1.1 optical zoom. However, it is said that the support offered by the application may expand in the future.
