We humans are the cause of many Earth and nature problems such as climate change, global warming and the depletion of the ozone layer, and nature is the savior. More specifically, trees. forests. and by destroying natural resources, we disrupt the carbon dioxide balance in the world. Scientists also seem to have given up hope on organic trees, because the scientists’ plan is to make mechanical trees.
Arizona State University professor Klaus Lackner, who specializes in carbon dioxide absorption, stated in a new interview that the mechanical trees he designed can absorb carbon dioxide and save people from the effects of climate change.
Farms that absorb a thousand tons of carbon dioxide per day will be established
Lackner describes the work of mechanical trees: These mechanical trees are long vertical columns of discs soaked in chemical resin and are about 1.5 meters in diameter. There are 5 centimeters between the discs. As air passes between these discs, the discs absorb the carbon dioxide and are completely filled after 20 minutes.
In July 2021, the university announced that it had received $2.5 million in funding for Lackner to work on mechanical trees that absorb carbon dioxide. Lackner plans three farms that can absorb 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide a day, the first of which will open in April this year.
