Artificial intelligence system developed in the USA against crypto fraud
Researchers from San Diego State University in California have developed an artificial intelligence system for X, formerly Twitter. This system discovers, monitors and exposes crypto scams on the platform.
The artificial intelligence system called GiveawayScamHunter drew attention to 87,617 accounts that appeared on the X platform between June 2022 and June 2023. 95,111 scam lists were discovered from these accounts.
The research team looked at previously identified giveaway scams to determine which listing was involved in sweepstakes scams. Working in the light of this data, the system found approximately 100,000 gift scam lists. Based on the data, the research team learned about fraudulent websites and crypto wallets.
The following statement was included in the report;
“Following the transactions of fraudulent cryptocurrency addresses, this study concludes that more than 365 victims were hacked by the fraudsters, resulting in an estimated $872,000 loss.”
