The longstanding dominance of Mercedes and Hamilton in Formula 1 was shaken last year. Even though he did not finish the top in the constructors’ championship, Red Bull Racing won the drivers’ championship with Dutch driver Max Verstappen.

While moving to new cars at the beginning of this season, Honda, which produces the engines of the Red Bull team, announced that it was withdrawing from Formula 1 to focus on electric cars. It seems that in the coming period, Red Bull will fill Honda’s void with Porsche.

Agreement in Morocco

For the agreement between Porsche and Red Bull to be valid, certain conditions must be met. One of them is to pass antitrust checks and European Union audits. In addition, these agreements have to be ratified in 20 different countries outside the EU. Since such agreements have to be announced in court in Morocco, which is one of these countries, the details of the agreement have also emerged.

According to the information received, Porsche will make a 10-year partnership with Red Bull. In this process, 50 percent of the Red Bull racing team will be in Porsche. According to the allegations, the date when this partnership will be officially announced will be August 4th.

According to initial plans, both sides allegedly aim to announce the partnership at the Austrian GP. Since this race was run three weeks ago, companies now had to set another date. The reason for the delay is that the 2026 engine regulations to be made by the FIA have not been approved. Normally, this approval process would take place on June 29.

Although only Red Bull is mentioned in the deal, Red Bull’s sister team, AlphaTauri, will probably also use a Porsche engine in the future. On the other hand, all the rights of the team will remain in the hands of Red Bull.
