EA’s Skate series returns after more than 10 years. The name of the game, which was known as Skate 4 for a while, was announced as “Skate”, and new details about the game were also shared.
New Skate game will be free
EA stated that the new Skate game will be released for free for Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. The game will have cross-platform play and save feature. Skate, though free, will have in-game sales. It was stated that the purchasing system of the game will be like Apex Legends and the items sold will be cosmetic in general.
EA plans to support the new Skate for many years to come with additional gameplay features, in-game balance changes, more content, and seasonal events. Accordingly, Skate will be considered a “live service” like Fortnite and Destinty. EA’s Full Circle studio in Vancouver has also started developing Skate’s mobile game. It is not yet known when Skate will be released.
