The other day, we shared with you the allegations that the health information registration system of the Ministry of Health, e-Nabız, was hacked and the data of millions of people was stolen. We also mentioned that the data put up for sale by a member on Raidforums is not real, and that the advertisement may be a fraudulent event.

The expected explanation came from the e-Government regarding the issue that created question marks and we wondered what the truth of the situation was. In the statement, it was stated that the allegations did not reflect the truth.

Statement by e-Government regarding ‘stolen data’ claims:

“The allegations of data leakage from digital infrastructures such as e-Government, e-Nabız, EBA and ÖSYM information systems of Turkey on 2-3 October 2021 do not reflect the truth. With the detailed technical controls, no data leak records related to the digital infrastructures of our institutions were found. It has been understood that the data forming the basis of the aforementioned claims were obtained by cyber attackers as a result of phishing and malware attacks against a very small number of individual accounts. The measures that can be taken for the individual, the main subject of cyber security, form the basis of our national cyber security. Measures to be taken by individuals regarding data privacy, password and device security while using digital media will be the most effective protection method to prevent such incidents from happening again. All our institutions operate in cooperation on cyber security awareness activities for individuals. ”
