Justin. Founded in 2011 by tv’s founders Justin Kan and Emmett Shear, Twitch is among the popular social media platforms that stand out with its game broadcasts. It was claimed that the data of users and publishers was stolen as a result of an attack on the platform where live broadcasts are made all day long.
Twitch has confirmed the hack!
Twitch confirmed today that there was a major data breach. We can confirm that a violation has occurred, a company spokesperson then posted on Twitter. Our teams continue to work to understand the extent of this. “We will update the community as additional information becomes available,” he said.
Data including the source code of the company’s streaming service, an as-yet-unreleased Steam competitor from Amazon Game Studios, and details of creator payments were leaked by hackers who carried out the cyberattack.
Earlier today, a 125GB torrent was posted by an anonymous account on the 4chan messaging board. This post allegedly contains the company’s private information and commitment history.
