Demand from Fuel Dealers to Disturb Citizens

Petroleum Products Employers' Union (PÜİS) announced the demands of fuel dealers after increasing costs. Chairman İmran Okumuş announced that he demanded that the profit share of the dealers be at least 15% and that it be increased at the rate of annual inflation.

Now, Imran Okumus, Chairman of the Petroleum Products Employers’ Union (PÜİS), has made a statement that may upset vehicle owners. Okumuş shared the demands of the dealers after the meeting where the problems of the fuel dealers were discussed with the PÜİS Board of Presidents.

The profit share of the dealers must be at least 15%

In the written statements made by Okumuş after the meeting, it was stated that the fuel dealers demanded that the profit share be at least 15 percent and that it be refined according to the annual inflation rate. In addition, it was among the statements made that the dealers were adversely affected by the increase in costs, and that the dealers suffered a loss with the current profit share.

In their statement, Okumuş stated that they prepared a report on the subject and said, “With the figures in our report, we have clearly shown that the dealers are making a loss due to the current profit share. The report, which includes our demand for the dividend to be at least 15 percent and to be increased at the rate of inflation every year, is presented to our President, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, the Energy Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, and our political parties. We conveyed it to the group vice presidents, deputies and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority”.

Stating that they had talks with government officials, Okumuş added that the authorities were convinced about the issue and that they were in agreement on the damage done. In addition to this, the President of PÜİS emphasized the importance of profit share by stating that a dealer who sells 10 thousand liters per day loses 54 thousand liras per month.
