The iconic DeLorean DMC-12, which was remembered with the ‘Back to the Future’ movies, left its mark on an era. The iconic model attracted attention in the early 80s with its design and especially with its gull wing doors. Although the DeLorean brand has been forgotten after years, the DMC-12 has always maintained its popularity.
Today, the iconic car is getting ready to return. The new car, called DeLorean EVolved, will appear as an adaptation of the iconic model to the present. The model, which will refer to the DMC-12 in many details, also keeps up with the present day with its electric motor.
DeLorean DMC-12 ‘back to the future’
From the promotional images shared so far, we knew that the new DeLorean would be electric and more luxury oriented. With the new visual, we were able to have more ideas about the vehicle. In the new post, the rear part of the vehicle was revealed.
Adopting a mid-engine supercar style, we can say that the new DeLorean looks pretty good with its bulging fenders and three-strip LED taillight. But will this design be supported by performance? We don’t know it yet, but this design definitely deserves a high power engine unit.
Developed for electric sports cars in partnership with Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering, the EVX platform seems quite suitable for the new DeLorean. This special architecture can provide more than 1,300 horsepower and a range of up to 1,000 km. Many people will be pleased to see this infrastructure at DeLorean.
All questions about DeLorean will end with Monterey Automobile Week. We plan to learn the features of the new model, which is announced to be introduced on August 18, until that day. The new electric model will also appear at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event on August 21.
