Dell’s new tablet comes with 12th generation Intel Core processors, built-in Iris Xe graphics card. It has WiFi 6E connectivity and dual broadband compatibility for higher speed and lower energy usage. The tablet’s battery is hot-swappable and gives the user up to 20 hours of use with two batteries. As for the display, Dell says the tablet, with its 16:10 aspect ratio, provides 13% more active screen area compared to previous generations. The screen brightness is up to 1200 nits and it is stated that it can be used with gloves.
Withstands drops up to 28 degrees and 4 meters
Users can customize the tablet according to their needs (such as barcode reader, HDMI port, removable NVMe SSD). Dell states that in order for the tablet to withstand the toughest conditions, it has been drop tested up to 4 meters and temperature tested between -28 degrees and 62 degrees. The tablet is also IP-65 certified, which provides protection against dust, dirt and water ingress.
On the security side, it comes with Dell’s TPM 2.0 ControlVault, an advanced hardware-based authentication tool that helps users secure and control their data with built-in encryption. Additional security options are also available to help protect highly sensitive or confidential information, including an infrared camera for Microsoft Windows Hello-based facial recognition and fingerprint reader.
Dell’s durable tablet, which can also be used as a 2-in-1 computer with a detachable keyboard, will be available towards the end of 2022, but no price information has been shared.
