Three people, known for their street interviews yesterday morning, were detained in raids on their homes. With the decision taken today, the punishment to be given to three people has been determined.

A house arrest warrant was issued for three people who were detained yesterday, namely Hasan Köksoy from Kendi Reporter, Arif Kocabıyık and Turan Kural from Additional TV. Arif Kocabıyık explained what happened in his statement after the decision.

‘The number of investigations exceeded 100’

Arif Kocabıyık talked about yesterday’s detention, together with all the investigations so far, in the “Evening Post with Atilla Güner” broadcast on Radio Sputnik. Expressing that the investigations opened against him exceeded 100, Kocabıyık’s statements were as follows:

Yesterday morning, at 07.00, they knocked on our door in an organized manner to 3 houses. They searched the house, confiscated my phone, computer and even my child’s tablet. We went to the police station at 08.30 and we thought that they would take our statements and release them, but the prosecutor issued a 24-hour detention warrant. The accusation is that they claim that an account named ‘Smart Sergeant’ previously broadcast Whatsapp conversations about Mujahideen First and that we are the owner of this account. Because Mücahit İlk, my brother-in-law and my partner, Turan Kural, had set the target two weeks ago. We don’t know who owns the account. They asked us, “Are you managing the account?” The prosecutor’s office referred us to the court with the request for house arrest. The real intention is street interviews, but they are trying to get it from somewhere. We are the people who are on the street and earn our living on the street. Why house arrest? Our lawyer asked for the right to sign for probation, but they insisted on house arrest as if making fun of him.
