Kojima Productions has decided to continue the Death Stranding universe. Announced at The Game Awards 2022 presentation, Death Stranding 2 featured a now-standard trailer for the brand, filled with mystery and plenty of confusion.
It looks like Hideo Kojima isn’t sure about naming the project Death Stranding 2 even though it’s a direct sequel, and for now it’s defined as “Working Name”. As the footage suggests, Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux are returning to reprise their roles. It has been confirmed that the sequel will also feature Troy Baker, Elle Fanning, and Shioli Kutsuna.
The original Death Stranding was released exclusively for PlayStation in 2019, and a PC version was made available a year later. The sequel seems to follow the same game rhythms with action elements included.
Death Stranding 2 was only announced for PlayStation 5, but no release date has been specified for now. Given Sony’s growing strategy to offer a PC version for exclusive games, we think it’s highly likely that this game will be available for at least PC at a later date after PlayStation release.
