Apple mentioned DaVinci Resolve support during the launch of the new iPad Pro with M2 processor earlier this month. The official statement from the developer of the app gives more information about what users can expect. The iPad version of DaVinci Resolve will reportedly be almost identical to the desktop version of the app. However, the controls are optimized for the tablet’s touchscreen.
When will DaVinci Resolve be released for iPad?
Users will be able to import files directly from internal device storage or iCloud. H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes and Blackmagic RAW files can be processed. Content creators will also be able to connect via the Blackmagic Cloud and work on projects remotely. It is stated that DaVinci Resolve can deliver 4x faster performance when processing Ultra HD ProRes video on the new iPad Pro with M2 processor, but it is not said exactly what it compares to. Older iPad Pro users based on the M1 processor will be able to edit HDR files.
