What does Wi-Fi 7 offer?
For those who missed it, Wi-Fi 7 will play an important role in wireless technology by offering speeds of up to 40 Gbit/s. We may even see Niketim as an alternative to Ethernet. These speeds will be possible with three frequency bands. These are 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. In addition, Wi-Fi 7 includes features such as MU-MIMO and OFDMA that speed up connections and provides up to 4.8 times improvement compared to its predecessor.
Another highlight of Wi-Fi 7 is that it will double the Multi-user MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) support, which we mentioned above, from eight to 16. In addition, the new standard will support all channels simultaneously (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 6 GHz) compared to the previous generation. Thus, we can say that it will offer a great improvement in delay values.
Also, as with all new Wi-Fi standards, Wi-Fi 7 will offer backward compatibility and some future-proofing. However, in order to get the best performance from the new standard, users will need smart devices compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and a new network card or motherboard on the PC side.
At this point, let us point out that Wi-Fi 7 supported devices currently have this technology as a “draft”. Therefore, future software updates will be needed to transition to all the features of Wi-Fi 7.
