Cyberpunk 2077 gets Overdrive mode
The 1.62 patch released for Cyberpunk 2077 includes important innovations, including full ray tracing, also known as “Path Tracing” and artificial intelligence-based anti-aliasing mode Nvidia DLAA. However, the most striking feature of the patch is the RT Overdrive mode. This technology, which activates ray tracing at every point by expanding the visual processing line of the game, provides a tremendous increase in visual quality.
According to CD Projekt Red, Overdrive mode is limited to a minimum of RTX 3090 (at 1080p 30FPS settings) and RTX 40 series (4070 Ti and higher) graphics cards. Other cards with 8GB of VRAM and ray tracing support will only be available in Photo Mode.
Although the new mode is limited to certain users only, let us remind you that the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion, which will be released this year, will be made widely available. Indeed, CD Projekt Red says it will be one of the biggest DLCs to date.
