CW Enerji, which carries out production and R&D studies on solar energy technologies, introduced Solar Carport, a solar parking project for electric vehicles. Solar Carport will protect electric vehicles from rain and sun while charging them.
Electric cars, which stand out for being environmentally friendly, are mostly charged using fossil resources. In order to reduce the negative impact of vehicles on the environment, renewable energy charging projects are diversifying day by day. This time, the domestic energy company CW Enerji has developed a project for charging electric cars with solar energy.

Solar Carport was designed to be installed in open car parks. It can charge the vehicle by converting the energy obtained from the solar energy panels on it directly into electricity. When the vehicle is not connected to the charger, it fills the batteries and ensures that the electricity can be used later. The stored energy can also be used to power the home by diverting it to the home’s electrical grid.
It can be installed in the parking lots of homes, workplaces, factories, restaurants and gas stations. Solar panels will also act as a roof to protect the car from rain and sun.
In the statement made by the company, no information was given about the capacities of Solar Carport, but it was stated that it offers options with different power capacities and dimensions according to the need.
Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of CW Energy, said the following about the importance of solar energy:
“The crisis in Europe is in the middle. The future is now in solar energy and storage systems. We are working on systems that take energy from the sun and store hydrogen and obtain energy. The whole world is working. Much more than the energy needed by the world is available in solar energy. We may not be able to install nuclear or wind power plants on houses, but we can install solar power plants on the roofs of every house. We can convert it to hydrogen and store and use the energy taken during the day. This is an energy that will not be affected by any crisis. Because the point produced and consumed is always the same. We aim to make the lives of our people easier with these solar-powered electrical systems.”
