US healthcare giant CVS has filed a trademark application for NFT and metaverse.
CVS Health is looking into the use of NFTs and the metaverse in healthcare, according to a February 28 filing. Although the application in question points to the presence of such plans in its services, it does not mean that it will always be available. A CVS spokesperson told The Block:
“As a leading healthcare solutions company, we are continually evolving our omnichannel healthcare services to meet the needs of consumers whenever and wherever they want, at home, online and in the community. . We are also regularly exploring new and innovative ways to engage consumers with a digital-first, cutting-edge approach, so we have recently filed trademark applications for virtual healthcare and other virtual goods and services.”
CVS Health, which ranked fourth on the Fortune 500 list last year, is the parent company of several well-known US-based businesses, including CVS Pharmacy and insurance company Aetna.
