r10. A user named ‘hizlimakale’, who shared on the net, told about a theft that he experienced on the crypto money wallet application Metamask. The user stated that he sent 126 thousand dollars from his Binance account to Metamask, which he has been using for about a year, and that the money arrived without any problems. But the money was no longer in his account after he went to sleep.
Small transactions were made with the money in the account:
Seeing that all his money was lost, the user entered Bscscan and checked the transfers from his wallet. The user saw that the scammer performed many transactions on the account with a value of between $60 and $200. As for these transactions, he did not receive any notification via Metamask. The user claimed that only the Metamask account he used with Pancakeswap was hacked.
So why did this event happen?
Stating that he has been in the IT industry for 14 years, the user said that he has not been infected with pirated software in any way, and that he did not log into fraudulent sites, and suggested that the situation may be due to security vulnerabilities in Pancakeswap or Metamask.
Other internet users who saw the incident also argued that it could be user error. Metamask allows your cryptocurrency wallet to connect to websites. He argued that the user who lost 126 thousand dollars may have connected the websites of the fraudsters who accidentally or unknowingly seized the crypto money wallets to his wallet, and finally, with the connection of the Wallet, the fraudsters also accessed the wallet and emptied it.
