The European Union has limited the amount of money coming from Russian accounts to EU crypto wallets to 10,000 euros.

The measures set by the EU are aimed at stopping the Russian oligarchs from circumventing financial sanctions.

As part of the sanctions measures published Friday in the official journal of the European Union, Russia’s payments to EU crypto wallets are capped at 10,000 euros.

The sanction is aimed at preventing Russia from circumventing the financial sanctions imposed after the invasion of Ukraine.

The EU had banned Russians from transferring more than 100,000 euros to EU Bank accounts one day after the Russian invasion. Authorities have approved a lower limit for crypto transactions.

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde recently warned that cryptocurrencies are used to evade sanctions.
