Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, known as BitBoy, was reportedly arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former business partner.
It was announced that crypto phenomenon Ben Armstrong, known by the nickname BitBoy, was arrested while broadcasting live in front of the house of a former business partner, Carlos Diaz, who he claimed owned his Lamborghini. Before the YouTube broadcast, BitBoy said “I will be broadcasting live from a very special place soon” and amazed everyone. BitBoy went on a tirade claiming Diaz “wanted to kill him,” citing his connections to the Houston mob. Afterwards, things turned into a chaotic situation.
Police operation on live broadcast!
19 minutes into the broadcast, Armstrong encountered local police, who came and asked if BitBoy had a gun, which BitBoy denied. He was then ordered to put down the phone and the broadcast was cut off for the remaining 17 minutes. But the audio of the conversation between BitBoy and the police officers could still be heard.
According to a listing with the Gwinnett County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office, BitBoy was issued a custody order and remains in jail. On September 26, Diaz released a confirmation that Armstrong showed up at her home. In late August, Hit Network, which controls the “BitBoy Crypto” brand, cut ties with BitBoy, citing issues with substance abuse and financial harm to employees.
