Miners turn to artificial intelligence
Crypto mining company Hut 8 Mining has generated $16.9 million in revenue from AI clients seeking high-performance computing, according to a new report published in Bloomberg. On the other hand, there is Hive BLockChain, which bought a $66 million graphics card from Nvidia for its artificial intelligence plans.
However, only a small percentage of crypto mining GPUs are capable of performing AI operations. The Bloomberg report states that only 5 percent to 15 percent of existing crypto GPUs can be used for artificial intelligence. Therefore, if the growth in artificial intelligence continues at the same pace, mining companies may buy more graphics cards. As it is known, Nvidia’s H100 GPUs are perfect for artificial intelligence, but their prices are at a very high level. On the other hand, the RTX 40 series is also known to be strong in artificial intelligence operations.
