Mark Cuban, one of the famous crypto investors, shared an altcoin sector that he definitely wants to buy. Billionaire entrepreneur compares Blockchain evolution to the early days of the internet.
Mark Cuban says he’s really bullish on crypto
Despite the ongoing bear market, billionaire crypto investor Mark Cuban remains bullish. In a recent interview with Forbes, Cuban exemplified this expectation with a comparison. He compared the early years of the mainstream to the crypto market in the 1990s, when the technology prevalent today was difficult to use and avoided by mainstream consumers. The businessman points out that it took 20 years for consumers to generally accept the mainstream as the norm. In part of the interview, he analyzed the situation as follows:
In terms of crypto, it’s very similar to that. We are still in the initial “difficulty” stages. The earliest cryptocurrency, whether you want to start with Bitcoin or something else, has been around for about 12 years. However, the smartest contract applications have only been available since 2017. That’s why we’ve only been here for five years.
Cuban also says that he is quite optimistic about the cryptocurrency market. He especially follows the DeFi and NFT market closely:
I am very optimistic about cryptocurrencies. We have had gains in the past from early technology sectors such as broadcasting, sports and news. Now you have DeFi with crypto and some other apps for your money transfer. But you haven’t yet had mainstream apps where your mom says, ‘Okay, we need to get a wallet because I need it’. Do A, B or C. It’s been DeFi, NFTs and money transfer…we’re waiting for the next round of submissions and there are a lot of people working on these.
According to Mark Cuban, today’s representatives of the internet boom of the 1990s are DeFi and NFTs. If Cuban’s predictions come true, the following projects will be the most successful representatives of their industry.
In the DeFi market;
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Uniswap (UNI)
- (DAO)
The largest NFT coins by market cap;
- Flow (FLOW)
- ApeCoin (APE)
- The Sandbox (SAND)
“I want to invest in cryptocurrency startups that will popularize the market”
Cuban observes a slowdown in internet activity between 1995, when the first iPhone was released, and 2007. Then, the number of mobile apps increased rapidly and the internet gained a lot of new capabilities. The billionaire claims that he wants to invest in cryptocurrency startups that will popularize the market. As you follow on Kriptokoin.com, Cuban previously shared that he owns Hex, Serum (SRM) and Rari Governance Token (RGT). The billionaire entrepreneur has recently been interested in the healthcare industry.
