Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has announced that the vast majority of retail crypto investors are losing money.
In the crypto bear market, institutional and individual investors have lost quite a bit. Especially this year, the Terra crisis and the FTX crash affected the market deeply. The crypto market, which experienced an average decline of 80 percent, was also hit hard by the US interest rate decisions. All these processes have been termed as bear markets for the crypto industry. Money losses of investors also attracted the attention of analysis and research companies. Switzerland-based BIS announced that 81 percent of investors made a loss in its research.
Crypto Drops Affect Investors
Bank for International Settlements (BIS) conducted a research on the transactions of crypto money investors.
In the reports of Switzerland-based BIS, data covering 95 countries from 2015 to 2022 were compiled. The data included that the majority of investors joined the market when the Bitcoin price was around $20,000.
The analysis revealed that 81 percent of investors entering the crypto market made a loss. Among the BIS findings, it turned out that 40 percent of users were men under the age of 35. In addition, less than 35 percent of users worldwide were identified as female users.
