Rainbow Six: Siege, Ubisoft’s long-supported esports game released in 2015, will soon receive an important update for console players. With the Operation Solar Raid update, which will be released on December 6, the game will have cross-progression and cross-play support.

Console and PC games will be separate

According to the information from Eurogamer, with the new update, joint games can be played between Xbox and Playstation platforms, but PC and Luna platform will be excluded from this match pool. Statistics and in-game coins will also be automatically matched between platforms if users connect Ubisoft Connect to their Xbox and Playstation accounts. However, cosmetic items and game settings purchased for operators will not be shared cross-platform.

As in the case of cross-play, profile records used on the PC and Luna platform will not be able to be matched with console profiles. With this update, users who use multiple platforms or switch between platforms will not lose their in-game progress. In addition, this update will significantly reduce game search time by consolidating shrinking match pools on Xbox and Playstation.
