A critical vulnerability has emerged in the disk management software of Synology, one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of network attached storage devices. Patching for the vulnerability, which covers two versions, is expedited.
Synology NAS users beware!
According to the statement made by Synology, a critical vulnerability has been detected in the disk management system versions of DSM 6.2 and DSM 7.0. It is stated that attackers can infiltrate network shares in this way.
Users of the aforementioned versions should follow the patches prepared by Synology. Those who are currently using prior version 6.2.4-25556-5 are requested to upgrade to this version. An update for DSM version 7.0 will be released shortly.
