Technology giant Google announced the discovery of a critical zero-day vulnerability affecting desktop Chrome users. The software giant, which gave a quick response to the problem, wants users to upgrade to the new version.

Google has warned

First discovered by Clement Lecigne of Google’s Threat Analysis Group, the vulnerability, tagged CVE-2022-4135, causes data to be written to prohibited (usually contiguous) locations unchecked, due to a heap buffer overflow. After the vulnerability was reportedly discovered, Google confirmed that the issue could lead to exploits.

Zero-day security vulnerabilities can bring great dangers today. An update needs to be shared as soon as possible to fix the problem, especially since they haven’t been discovered before. We can say that Google is acting fast here.

The software giant recommends upgrading to the current version of Chrome 107.0.5303.87 or higher against attacks that exploit the new vulnerability. However, to access the new update, you must first click on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of your browser and then click on “Settings”. Thus, users can access the version details from the “About Chrome” section at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the screen.
