Elon Musk’s attempt to buy Twitter has been suspended due to bots and spam accounts. It was announced that the necessary permissions were given to the Tesla CEO, who requested a detailed report on this issue from Twitter, in the past few days. Elon Musk is now taking another step in the takeover by meeting with Twitter employees on Thursday, June 16.
Elon Musk meets with Twitter staff
The event was announced in an email to staff Monday by Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. Billionaire businesspeople are expected to answer questions from Twitter employees at the meeting. Agrawal stated in the e-mail he sent that employees can ask questions to Musk before the meeting.
The meeting, which will be attended by everyone, will be the first time Elon Musk has met directly with the company’s employees since his attempt to take over Twitter. Earlier this month, the successful businessman threatened the social media company to pull out of the deal.
Elon Musk, who wanted to reach more information about users, blamed Twitter officials after this request was rejected. In the letter he sent to the authorities, Musk stated that he has the right to make his own measurement on spam accounts. Since then, Elon Musk has been holding off on the Twitter takeover process. Now, in the light of new developments, it is believed that the agreement has come to an end.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s bringing this issue to the agenda on social media was highly discussed. It was interpreted as Elon Musk’s suspension of the deal, citing spam and fake accounts, trying to reduce the price and even looking for ways to withdraw from the deal.
As it is known, Twitter’s board of directors had accepted Elon Musk’s $44 billion offer in the past months. The company’s shares, on the other hand, have lost value since then, watching well below Elon Musk’s offer.
