Auto companies can recall their vehicles in the event of a malfunction or error that could threaten driver safety. Recently, manufacturers such as Tesla, Ford and Mercedes have recalled thousands of models due to large and small problems. A new one has been added to these. Lamborghini has identified a critical issue in the Huracan models.
Critical error in Lamborghini Huracan models
Lamborghini, one of the first companies that come to mind when it comes to luxury cars, recalled the Huracan models due to a critical mistake made in the production process. The Italian company invited all Huracan Evo and STO models that were off the band between May 2 and May 9, 2022 due to an error in the production process, to their service to solve the related problem.
All of the cars recalled by the company are in the United States. It is also underlined that 21 Lamborghini Huracans were produced between the specified dates. According to a statement from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a fault in cars has the potential to prevent the left door from being opened from the outside. This may cause the driver to be stuck in the vehicle in emergency situations such as an accident.
This problem, which prevents the left door from opening in Huracan models, is due to the incorrect positioning of the safety clip of the cable that opens the door. Lamborghini suspects the cable may loosen over time, preventing the door from opening, although it’s not yet a problem.
The way this error is detected is also quite interesting. Because during end-of-line quality checks, a company employee sees a door handle, called Bowden, where the safety clip on the cable is not attached correctly. The company, which started a detailed investigation without wasting time, determined that the Huracans produced between May 2 and May 9 got off the band in this way.
