Crucial Ballistix brand, which has been present with different options since DDR1 memory in the computer industry, which has switched to the DDR5 standard today, is being lifted into the dusty shelves of history by its owner Micron.
Saying goodbye to the high-end memory race
It is not yet known why Micron terminated the brand, which stated in the press release that it would “focus on developing DDR5 client and server products and expand Crucial’s memory and storage product portfolio”. . However, many sources speculate that such a decision was made because the company was lagging behind Crucial’s SK-Hynix or Samsung’s DDR5 chips.
As it is known, only DDR5- Crucial Ballistix, which has 4800 memory options, fell behind its rivals reaching DDR5-6000 speeds. Considering that about two years ago, the brand’s DDR4-4000 memory was overclocked to 7,0004 MHz and broke the frequency record, we can say that it is quite sad to leave the PC industry.
