Google announced its new products at its I/O 2022 developer conference two days ago. One of them is the Google Pixel 6a. The budget-friendly new member of the Pixel 6 series, introduced last year, will not encounter some problems that occur on existing devices and reduce the user experience, according to the latest information.
Google Pixel 6a comes with a different fingerprint reader
Google used an under-screen fingerprint reader in the Pixel 6 series it launched in October last year. The feature, which has now become a standard for high-end devices in the industry, has not fallen off the agenda with various problems in the series, otherwise.
Pixel 6 users complain that the sensor reacts late when they want to unlock the screen with a swipe of the finger, while some customers, on the other hand, say that the fingerprint reader is disabled after the battery is completely dead and restarts. He complained that the methods didn’t work either.
After the increase in complaints, Google said in a statement on Twitter in the past months that problems such as delayed response of the sensor were caused by advanced security algorithms, and this was completely normal. However, he did not give any explanation about other problems.
Google’s Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, Rick Osterloh, told Android Central that a different fingerprint reader will be used on the Google Pixel 6a. In this way, it is expected that situations such as sensor slowness will disappear.
