The Chinese social media company announced on its website that it will now tag state-controlled media organizations. TikTok stated that it took this decision as part of the ‘state media policy’ it developed to help users understand where the videos they watch came from, especially in times of war.

Saying that it has accelerated this policy due to the war in Ukraine, TikTok announced that it will tag the content shared in the accounts of state-controlled media organizations. The company also shared the information that it is working with 50 experts from 20 countries to accurately determine which accounts and contents belong to government media.
