Samsung is a company with a wide product range. The manufacturer, which appeals to its users with its entry, medium and flagship models, also uses its own Exynos processors in its phones, unlike most companies. It even becomes the focus of criticism from time to time on the grounds that there are performance differences between the Qualcomm and Exynos versions of the upper segment models.
Samsung will go through an important revision on the processor, according to the latest information. Having made such a decision after MediaTek has recently increased its market share, the company will start using its own processors in its smartphones, starting from the entry segment.
Samsung will use more Exynos processors in the entry segment
According to the BusinessKorea report, Samsung will now use more Exynos processors in entry segment smartphones, which are frequently preferred in our country. At the same time, the company, which started to focus on potential markets from proven markets, took its first step in the processor field with the Galaxy A13, which was launched in North American countries.
Galaxy A13 is the successor of Galaxy A12, the best selling smartphone of 2021 with 51.8 million sales according to Omida. Galaxy A12, which also holds the title of the first model in the world to exceed the 50 million threshold, contributed to MediaTek’s increasing its market share in the semiconductor industry with the MediaTek Helio P35 processor powered by it.
However, according to Samsung, using processors from companies like MediaTek in entry-level models with high sales potential has started to cause the company’s own Exynos chipsets to be left behind. For this reason, in addition to MediaTek Dimensity 700, the Exynos 850 option appeared in the Galaxy A13 model.
With this model, more Exynos processors will be used, especially in Samsung’s entry-level smartphones. Of course, in terms of performance, time will tell whether these processors will be appreciated by users.
