Google has released an update for Android Auto in the past weeks. Some drivers have stated that they are experiencing voice command issue after Android Auto update.
Android Auto is on the agenda with voice command problem
Google has announced the long-awaited dark theme feature in Android Auto 8.6. Changing some features for Android 13 compatibility, Google included the Material You design language in the new version.
Adding the Start, Image and Connection menus to Android Auto, the company announced that they have increased the functionality of the application. Drivers will be able to enjoy a full-screen experience in the Map application.
The new version came up with some technical issues with the voice assistant. Drivers who have updated Android Auto have reported encountering a black screen when they use the “Hey Google” voice command.
Users stated that they pressed any key in the infotainment system so that the voice assistant could detect the commands. To fix the problem, users are advised to uninstall the updates and disable the automatic update feature for now.
The 9to5Google team discovered that the voicemail reading feature also does not work in the new version of Android Auto. According to the information announced, Android Auto 8.6 users encounter problems when using the text-to-speech feature.
Google had released a new update for the notification problem in Android Auto in the first months of 2022. In response to a complaint about the notification posted on Android Auto’s help page, a Google representative said, “Our team has implemented a fix to resolve this issue. You will now be able to use Android Auto without any notification issues.” said.
Google has not released any updates regarding the problems that have arisen. It is estimated that the problem will be resolved in the first weeks of 2023.
