We’ve seen multiple manufacturers recall their cars lately, and the final warning came from Ford. The company, which detected a new malfunction in the F-150 Lightning model and sent notifications to vehicle owners, said that wrong measurements were made in tire pressures. Ford recalled hundreds of vehicles manufactured in 2022.

Tire pressure failure detected on Ford F-150 Lightning

According to the new warning from Ford, errors were detected in 2886 F-150 Lightning models. The automotive giant revealed that there was a malfunction in the software that monitors tire pressure and incorrect measurements were made. Incorrectly inflated tires can increase the risk of an accident, according to the company’s warning.

According to Ford’s statement, 2022 production electric models have been found to be only in the United States and Canada for now. Stating that he will send a software update to the F-150 Lightning within 30 days, Ford stated that vehicle owners can go to the technical service to test the tire pressure if they want.

The warning shared by the company revealed that the software that monitors tire pressure was faulty. It was stated that the tire inflation pressure control module placed on the electric F-150 was adjusted to 35 psi. But the recommended cold tire pressure for the USA is 42 psi.

This situation causes vehicle owners who control the tire pressure to inflate their tires incorrectly. Low tire pressure can reduce grip and increase the risk of collision, Ford warns. However, it was underlined that there were no accidents or injuries related to the subject yet.

Apart from Ford, Mercedes has also recalled more than one model. The German automaker recalled 1 million old vehicles due to a problem in the brake system. The German Federal Agency for Motor Vehicles (KBA) said that this call is for the ML, GL and R-Class series produced in 2004-2015.
