Australian computer engineer Craig Wright claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin (BTC). He even said that there are people who will confirm it.

On a TV show in Australia, Wright was asked if he was the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. Wright said it was true, and there were people around to substantiate it.

Wright said:

The proof is always people. I mean, I have family, I have friends and I have high-level acquaintances in this industry.

Wright did not say who or where the people who could prove his claim were. However, he said that being the founder of Bitcoin made his life difficult. He also added that money or fame did not motivate him.

Responsibility to Prove

Claiming to be the creator of Bitcoin, Craig Wright preferred to explain it with the example of a car key, although he could not send a message from Bitcoin’s zeroth, the first mined block called Genesis:

Again, you can’t prove you own something with a key. If you have a car key, it doesn’t mean you own the car. Honestly, that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

As it turns out, Wright did not like the fact that Hamish Macdonald, who conducted the interview, asked him to provide real evidence to Wright. This interview became more and more vicious and ended with Wright getting angry and insulting and suggesting to Macdonald that he buy a law book and read what the evidence was.
