Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), one of the games that the video game world has been waiting for for years, is on the agenda with a very interesting issue. An update Valve made in the past hours accidentally triggered the game’s ban system, “VAC”. As such, thousands of players were banned out of the blue.
Valve’s wave of erroneous bans didn’t just affect casual players. Even the account belonging to a member of The Mongolz, one of the well-known teams in Counter-Strike, nicknamed “Techno4k”, has been banned. According to the data shared by the X account named CS Stats, which shares statistics about CS2, the ban wave has caused twice the daily average of players to be banned.
Statement from Valve:
In a post from CS2’s official X account, it was stated that the VAC wave was caused by the update and the problem was fixed. Players who were banned for no reason will be able to return to CS2 with their inventory without any problems.
Although Valve announced that it had disclosed the problem, it did not provide an explanation as to why such a thing happened.
