2024 is pointed out for Windows 12
“We think 2024 is going to be a pretty good year for customers, especially because of the new Windows release,” Intel CFO David Zinsner said in a recent earnings call. This statement does not explicitly mention Windows 12, but it is certain that a new version of Windows is not Windows 11.
As you know, Windows 12 has been on the agenda with many different leaks so far. One of these was that Microsoft would introduce Windows 12 in the second half of 2024 and would probably go to full version in 2025. So the CFO may be implying that Intel’s upcoming Meteor Lake processors will take advantage of Windows 12.
Niketim’s recently released Windows 11 23H2 update brought important innovations in terms of artificial intelligence functionality. At this point, Intel Meteor Lake processors will also debut with the AI engine integrated into the chip. When additional accelerators on the GPU are added to this development, it is expected to provide a major increase in performance and application experience. Therefore, Windows 12 may herald a new environment in which the CPU and operating system work together.
