Social media platforms, which are believed to be one of the best ways of advertising today, leave their place to the sky. As work continues to place advertisements in space, the cost to be paid has also been announced. Here are the details…
Advertising period in space begins!
Researchers from Russia’s Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology have long been working on the idea of placing advertising in space. The researchers in question made new statements about the cost.
According to the information shared by the researchers, 50 12U CubeSat satellites will be sent into space. The CubeSats, which will be in teams, will combine to form an advertisement. Advertising satellites, which can be seen from the sky, will remain in the orbit of the sun and take on a luminous shape.
The cost of deploying 50 12U CubeSat satellites to be used for advertising is estimated to be $65 million. While $48.7 million of the said amount goes to satellite production, it is estimated that there will be $11.5 million in remote support and engineering costs.
According to the researches, the money to be earned will vary according to the country and city where the satellites appear. The satellites that will move will also be visible from different cities. While it is expected to generate around $2 million in revenue per day, it is stated that the cost will be covered within a month. In addition, the researchers state that advertising satellites to be sent into space are being prepared.
Instagram is making Discover an ad home!
The ad frenzy hit Instagram outside of space. Mark Zuckerberg, who is among the richest people in the world, plans to take the pain of the decrease in Meta’s income from users. According to the latest leaks, the first change to be made will be to play more ads in Instagram, especially on the Discover screen.
Although Instagram was born as a photo sharing platform, it has become a video sharing medium today as a result of the competition of applications such as TikTok, Snapchat and Vine. So much so that with each passing day, videos are more prominent in all shares, especially Discover.
With the new feature, which is currently in the testing process, advertisements in the form of images or videos, which are between 4 and 10 seconds and then automatically go to the next share, which we can skip because they are not mandatory to watch, will be at the top of the Discover tab.
